Family in town…

Grandpa Rich and Uncle James were in town last week to welcome Sam to the family and spend some quality time with Carson. I snapped a few photos:

Grandma Shirl is in town this week and I copied off the pictures from their camera from last week’s visit… if she takes some more pictures while she’s here I’ll put them in this same album.

Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital

There was a press release today from Jenni’s work… Carson and I were invited to come and help out. Carson got to stand at the head of the line (with his back to the TV cameras) and give Peyton (and the other big wigs) high fives on their way to the stage and then got front row seats to the news release. I took some pictures, I’m hoping Dr. Ronda and her husband Bruce got some good ones that I can put in my album as well.

And since I’ve already been asked, I figure I better note it here before more people wonder… Nothing is wrong with Carson, he’s perfectly healthy. They had kids in the hospital and kids of employees there to greet Peyton.

Note to self: Van repair: $0 – Broken resistor on blower motor – 36,134m (original purchase date 4/26/07)

Labor Day Vist to Negley

We packed up the van with our little family and grabbed my mom as well to travel out to visit Jenni’s relatives in Negley, OH. We had a very relaxing weekend, we couldn’t even get cellular signals, let alone internet. I didn’t even take that many photos, all on the last day… here they are anyway. 🙂

A total eclipse…

of the Moon.

We had a pretty good view of the Lunar Eclipse this morning… I wish I had been awake enough to better use my camera’s settings, but by the time I figured it out the moon was gone. Oh well, I did get at least something captured.

It fell behind the trees as the total eclipse happened… then the sun came up and I had to head to work so I didn’t get to see it reemerge. Here’s a couple of star photos I took between moon shots.

Weekend updates

Saturday we went to Carson’s preschool teacher’s house for a picnic… Thursday was his last day of preschool, Monday he starts in prekindergarten. So this was a graduation party of sorts. It was a perfect day for hanging around outside, very mild with a nice breeze. Sunday I mowed, cleaned out under Carson’s playset and laid in some recycled tire mulch… it looks pretty good. Some day we might put it under the swings and stuff too, it’s pretty soft to land on. Finally in the evening I put up the last shelf I had on hand in the garage. So I have done the lights in there, made space on the walls to hang stuff, and now I’m utilizing overhead space as well. Here’s a couple pictures going along with the above stories.

Branson photos, day 7 & 8

Last two days in Branson! We went to the Titanic Museum, which was awesome… they don’t allow photography inside but I snapped a couple outside that are pretty good. Later that day we went back to Celebration City and rode some more rides. I took two pics of the welcome center for the resort as well so that I could remember what it was called.

I guess I’ll have to start doing real blog posts again… heh.

Branson photos, day 6

On our 6th day in Branson we took a Scenic Train Ride… it was a two hour trip complete with snack/drink service. The kids had a great time and the dome cars were really cool to ride in. That night we went to Celebration City… Carson got to ride a whole lot more rides than our last trip to an amusement park. He’s now right at 42 inches tall. On with the show…

Last set of photos to be uploaded and showcased tomorrow!

Branson photos, day 5

So day 5 rolls around… we took it easy in the morning, the boys wanted to play on the park near our condo but that didn’t last long given the crazy heat. In the afternoon we went to a Broadway tribute show they did a ton of show tunes with matching sets, it was pretty good. On our way to dinner at Dick Clark’s 57 Heaven Diner we stopped at the Stone Hill Winery for a tour, some samples, and a few supplies.

Stay tuned for Day 6.
